Centre Manager's Message

As we move into the final part of 2025, it’s wonderful to see so much energy and momentum across our CUC Maranoa community.
​
One of the big highlights on our calendar is the upcoming Level Up: Game On sporting careers expo, happening Wednesday 25 September at the Cities RLFC Oval, Roma. This free event is open to everyone and will showcase just how many career pathways sport connects us to — from health and science to coaching, technology, media, and event management. With hands-on activities, inspiring speakers, and plenty of fun for the whole community, it’s shaping up to be a fantastic day.
Closer to home at the Centre, our Learning Skills Advisors, Kat and Glenys, continue to support students through workshops and one-on-one sessions. Whether it’s help with planning, tackling assignments, or sharpening exam strategies, our LSAs are here to make study that little bit easier. If you haven’t already, book in a session — now is the perfect time to get that extra support.

We’re also thrilled to be celebrating our students’ achievements at the CUC Maranoa Graduation Dinner later this year. This is always such a special evening, recognising the dedication and hard work it takes to balance study with life, work, and family. It’s a chance for us all to come together as a community and celebrate the success stories that inspire others to keep striving.
​
Finally, as the end of year approaches, I want to acknowledge the persistence and determination shown by every student who has been part of CUC Maranoa in 2025. The finish line is in sight, and we’re here to cheer you on every step of the way.
Closing Out 2025 — You’re Not Alone
As 2025 draws to a close, it's the perfect time to reflect on how far you've come. Whether this has been your first year of study or one of many, reaching the end of the academic year is no small achievement — and you should be proud of the progress you’ve made.

At CUC Maranoa, we’re here to support you through this final stretch and beyond. Our centre remains a quiet, well-equipped space to help you stay focused, with high-speed internet, printing facilities, and kitchen amenities — everything you need to keep your momentum going. Plus, our Learning Skills Advisor (LSA) is available to support you with study strategies, academic writing, referencing, and more.

It’s not too late to connect with us! Whether you're preparing for summer study, looking ahead to next year, or just need a productive space to wrap up the year, we’d love to welcome you in. Level Up: Game On – Roma’s Sporting Expo

Get ready, Maranoa — Level Up: Game On is coming! On Wednesday 25 September, the Cities RLFC Oval will transform into a hub of energy, opportunity, and inspiration for the whole community.
This free sporting expo is about more than just the game on the field. It’s about unlocking the world of careers, pathways, and opportunities that sport connects us to — from health and fitness to coaching, media, science, technology, and community development.
Students, families, and community members are invited to take part in a full day of hands-on activities, demonstrations, and workshops delivered by universities, sporting organisations, and local professionals. There’ll be chances to try new skills, discover behind-the-scenes sporting careers, and hear from athletes and experts about their journeys.
And because no great sporting event is complete without good food and fun, registered attendees will enjoy an all-day sausage sizzle — free with your wristband.
